Most of our fall weekends were spent at stock dog trials again this year. We
all enjoy the adventures of camping, the challenge of trialing and the company
of the good handlers and friends we get to rub shoulders with at these events.
Here are a few pictures of the highlights of out attempts at the post.
Waiting our turn.
Megan and Tess at the post for their first run in pro-novice.
Madeline and Pedro. Booey can run backwards as fast as I can go forwards!

Mike and Ridge at their first trial.
Megan and Ridge also won the 4H state dog show in obedience.
Two weeks ago we traveled over to MN to pick up a wonderful pony named
Munchkin, donated by a good friend who is a photographer. You can check
out her beautiful work at her website.
Munchkin is a 14 year old pony that once worked at the same camp with our
other pony, Ernie. The gorgeous fall weather has given us plenty of opportunities
to ride and enjoy the beautiful colors around the farm. Munchkin is delightful
and has brought a whole new world of adventure to our family now that the
kids can ride together. We love the little guy.
Last Sunday people from our community joined us for an evening of worship in
the barn loft led by Matt Hoffland, Jake, Leah and Dan. It was a delightful evening
of music, drama, sharing and fellowship. It was such a blessing that we hope to
do more events like this in the future. Keep watching the website and facebook
for dates and times.
Last weekend we hosted the First Baptist Church of Whitehall’s annual church
service, baptism and picnic. About 140 people gathered in the barn loft to worship
and share testimonies of God in their lives followed by three young people publicly
sharing their faith through baptism. Most of the families stayed to enjoy a picnic
lunch in the pavilion and about 50 adventurous ones went tubing bridge to bridge
down the creek. We love our local church and are privileged to partner in ministry
with them whenever we can.
The last weekend of July we welcomed Kathy Knox and twelve handlers and their
dogs for a stock dog clinic. In spite of hot temperatures, high humidity and pesky
gnats, all the dogs and handlers made great progress over the two days.
