Earlier in July we had the opportunity to host the Indianhead Sheep Breeders
Association’s annual picnic. Shepherds from the surrounding counties gathered
together to share ideas and plan. We also invited Peg Anderson from the Wis-
consin Working Stock Dog Association to do a demonstration on the benefits of
a working stock dog. We had a delightful day and enjoyed networking with our
Wisconsin shepherds.
We were thrilled to welcome the extended Dorn Family back to the farm this
summer. The ladies all enjoy fiber and are extremely creative. We spent a
rainy day in the barn loft spinning and felting. Here are some of their beautiful
projects…
Needle felting…
Wet felting, felted soap and finished yarn…
The Granary Guest House has been booked 17 out of the last 23 nights this
month. It is exciting to share the farm with families and individuals as they
retreat, reconnect and enjoy the beauty of creation.
Lew is growing into a fine young labrador. He doubled his weight in 16 days
and is winning our hearts with his sweet personality and love for life. Here
are some new pictures of the brown dog…
While we were at the fair, a storm took out half of one of the old maple trees by
the house. God’s hand guided it as it fell, missing the other tree, the deck and
the vehicles in the driveway. We are very grateful there wasn’t any significant
damage and are happy to report that the swing is OK!
