The lambing season has begun! Our first lamb came last week. The ewe is a first time mom and she delivered a little boy and is taking very good care of him. We have 15 more ewes to deliver in this first batch, then 20 more that will lamb later in April.

After four years of consistent use, the guest house was showing some wear
and tear. The kids helped with the demo and we got the majority of the bath-
room phase completed before Christmas. On December 26th, the Vorwerk
Family showed up to kick the project into high gear. Mike V. and I took out
the partition wall, rewired a few outlets, tore out the carpeting and installed
the new hardwood floor. Here are some before and after pictures…

Last weekend, twenty one volunteers gave up their Saturday to work on the
farm. We had a gorgeous fall day to cross projects off the lists. The crews
worked on three main areas: firewood, the garden, and replacing the steps
to the house. We are extremely grateful for all the hours invested in the
ministry and are especially indebted to Micah K for these fine pictures of
the progress…

On September 17, we partnered with our local church to host the annual
Family Field Day. Over a hundred people from our local community came
out to enjoy family fun. They had the opportunity to try trap shooting, 3D
archery, wrist rockets, tomahawk throwing, and pumpkin painting. The
chili-cook-off lunch was delicious. A local blacksmith gave a demonstra-
tion and Olympic gold medalist, John Peterson, shared his testimony and
his faith.
In September we welcomed a home school co-op class from the Arlington
Heights, IL, area for three days to study astronomy. The weather didn’t
cooperate and they didn’t see a single star but that didn’t stop them from
learning more about how the heavens declare the glory of God.
