All of a sudden spring is on the horizon and the sap is running. We have
about 250 taps in the trees and the buckets are already overflowing. It took
Becky and the kids plus a few neighbor friends over 3 hours to collect yes-
terday. We are looking forward to firing up the evaporator tomorrow.

Gus pounding taps.
Bucket head boy.
Evelyn tasting sap for the first time.
She loved it!
Sap dripping into the buckets in the quiet woods is one of my very favorite sounds. ever.
The ice rink is a giant puddle today but it was a big hit this winter, providing
winter fun for several groups and lots of neighborhood animal ball and hockey.
We said goodbye to some of our favorites this winter. We are grateful that
God has blessed us with animals who made us laugh, brought us joy, taught
us about their Creator and shared our lives. They will be deeply missed.

Our first wave of Suffolk and Blue faced Leicester lambs is complete with a
total of 10 rams and 3 ewe lambs. Jake did a great job getting the jugs ready.
The rest of the white faced ewes are due to deliver in the middle of April.
The Harvest Home Farm skating rink is now open for the season. After running
the garden hose for 36 hours in previous years, I decided I had to change my
flooding method. Last week a generous friend brought out a fire truck to tackle
the job. 12,000 gallons of water later and 3 days of below zero temperatures
and we are finally ready to go. This year we even have lights so we can extend
the rink hours.
Rolling out the plastic liner after framing out the pavilion.
12,000 gallons of water.
