A family from MN generously donated 20 round bales of hay for our animals.
They even loaded up the trailer and delivered them. We are saving the big
square bales (ALSO generously donated) for our sheep when they deliver.
After a night of high winds and temperatures in the 40’s, we woke up to
this view outside our windows. Our “extreme” winter weather changed
overnight with a thaw that flooded the barn, fields and driveway. Our
Amish neighbors even put out a row boat in their front yard which is un-
der water!
The tubing hill.
The sheep pasture.
The ice rink in the pavilion.
The good news is that the plastic is holding the water so we may get a
second chance at skating when the temperatures drop again.
This past week we had the privilege of hosting two missionary families
on their way out of the country. We worked with both of them at Camp
Forest Springs for years and now God has directed all three of our
families to new ministries.
Paul and Roxanne Wilson (Kyle, Peter and Joelle) are heading to Mexico
to work in developing a Christian camp called El Monte (Spanish for “the
mountain") in Ticuman. For more information about their family and ministry,
check out their website at Wilson News.
Ron and Paula Roberts (Matt, Mikayla and Anna) are heading to Romania
with International Messengers. To see their website, click here.
We are grateful for the chance to visit with these great friends and to see
how God is directing their paths.
May God bless your families as you step out in faith.
On Friday night Becky hosted a fiber class taught by Heather Lathrop from
Dreamweaver Creations in Loyal, WI. Seventeen people crowded into the
guest house to learn how to make a four strand braid, creating woolen lead
ropes and leashes that are strong and beautiful. We hope this will be the
beginning of a series of fiber workshops at Harvest Home Farm.
Last winter it was a challenge to keep the house economically warm even
with five heat sources. This fall, my dad and I installed a wood furnace
that was generously donated to the ministry. Yesterday, Mike V and I
disconnected the pellet stove that shared the chimney and fired it up for
the first time. We have already noticed a big (my wife says “HUGE")
difference in the temperature in the house. We are grateful for this blessing
and everyone that made it possible!
150,000 BTU’s!
